Nope, I was going to keep this hidden until after Leadership but couldn't resist showing it off. This is my creation for one of the organized swaps at Leadership this year, but when I saw the Pal Paper Arts Color Challenge (PPA126) and these were the same colors I used, I just had to submit it. Hope you like it!

I did use Marina Mist card stock and ink, Very Vanilla card stock and Not Quite Navy ink in making this card, as well as the new Rue Des Fleurs stamp set from Stampin' Up!

It's a New Year!

I'm ashamed to say that it's been way more than a year since my last post. Well with this being a New Year I thought I'd start it off on the right foot and get this blog up and running again (only this time I'm hoping to be a bit more consistant with my posting)! Now that I've said this to the world I had better keep my promise!

There has been so much since I last wrote here: many Mini events across the country including a few new 1st place awards for my "Minnie S"; a new MINI (or two...traded in the older ones); lots of stamping and creating too! So rather than go back and try to remember all of that stuff that happened too long ago, I figure I'll just go forward from here. I will be sharing some of my latest CASEs and creations in the next week or so, but I figured it was best to just get started and to let you know I'm back (and hopefully not forgotten)!

Iris Folded Ornament

Today's card is my holiday creation using the iris folding technique. I love this technique because it looks like you've spent many hours slaving with papers and adhesives, but it really moves quickly.

I used Old Olive (100702), Real Red (102482) and Whisper White (100730) cardstocks as well as Merry Moments DSP (115672); Old Olive Classic Ink (102277) with the Lovely as a Tree stamp set (115026) and Real Red Classic Ink (103133) with the Heard from the Heart stamp set (111644); our ornament punch (116794) and gold Elastic Cord (109867).

A New Commitment...

It's been over 3 months since my last post (shame on me :( !), so I'm making a promise to at least keep up with this monthly if not more often. I just don't want to bore you. I also promise to start posting some of my creations, most of which are made from Stampin' Up! products.

Recently my husband and I went to Williston, FL to help celebrate my best friend's 50th birthday. Although I didn't take my camera this trip (my friend takes enough photos for an army), I did take pics of the card and gift I made for her. Here are not only my projects for her, but also a sneak peek of some of the new colors/products coming July 1st from SU.

I found this Fold Up Circle Table Top Card on Patti Lee's blog http://creationsbypatti.blogspot.com/2009/06/fold-up-circle-table-top-card.html and thought it was really awesome (Thanks Patti). So here's the card I made using some of the sneak peek colors/DSP from SU that will be available July 1st.

I loved this card so much that I did 12 more for a swap. I used SU new Lovely Flowers DSP from a new Hostess Level 3 set; new In Colors: Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay Card Stocks as well as Old Olive CS. Butterflies, Flowers and Leaves were all made with SU Big Shot and Dies. I think the designing part takes the longest, but once you know how you want to do it goes pretty quickly.

Next I made her a gift box filled with 8 greeting cards and envelopes, a post-it note pad, pen and stamps. Also included were a variety of messages (thank you, happy birthday, thinking of you and sending hugs and kisses) for her to put on the outside of each card depending on her reason for sending. I used the Stationary Box template by Jackie Topa (found here: http://jackietopa.typepad.com/addicted_to_stamping/stationery-boxes/ ) and the new In Colors ( Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry and Bermuda Bay CS) from SU that will be available July 1st. Also I used the A Kind Word stamp set, it's one of my favs. The first photo is mostly to see the lid, I hadn't made the cards as yet. The second photo has a pocket with the additional greetings, dimensionals and stamps. The next five photos are samples of the cards. I only did two with greetings so that she could have an idea of what to do with the others I included. The last photo was the inside of each card. I also decorated the envelope with the same stamp.

Well, I hope you've enjoyed and were a little inspired by my creations. More to come soon.

Guess I'm not playing well here...

I should probably go into a time out for not posting anything in so long, wait I think I was in time out and now it's time in! So since the last time I posted I've been to Orlando and my "Minnie S" MINI got 1st Place for the MINI Cooper S class at Spring Thing 14 and my Classic British Open (named Alfie) got 3rd Place for the Re-Shelled class. Our club, Minis of Miami took home about 11 trophies all together and not just because we come out in numbers (but it helps)!

Next, I've started eating Xocai, the healthy chocolate. This stuff is so terrific! In less then a week of eating this wonderful chocolate three times a day, I already notice a difference. My knee joints and low back are no longer hurting! I can stand up and walk normal without feeling stiff and in pain. Birth of another new blogger

Today I am starting to blog for the first time. I'm not real sure what direction this will move in, but I'm willing to give it a shot. After surfing through hundreds of other blog sites I just figured it was my time to share my loves, my intrests, my creativity and more.
